Yo Yo Yo what’s up fellow triathletes,
First of all, a prosperous and Happy New Year 2014, I hope that you have spent a lovely Christmas with your loved ones.
Since I have the honour to be this year’s TRI Yas tri guy, this will be first blog entry in the run up to TRI Yas on the 28.02.2014. Blog entries touching on various useful triathlon subjects will follow pretty much on a weekly basis. In addition to that, I will be present on a couple of occasions at TRAIN Yas giving out tips. I ll keep you posted on exact dates.
If you haven’t already started preppin’ your season, around now would be a good time to do so.
The key to gettin’ back into the swing of things after a break is to remind yourself that you had a break. So in the beginning take it slowly in all 3 disciplines for the first 2 weeks. After the first 2 weeks, based on how you feel, you can slowly but surely increase the workload across the board.
At the same time, the break is over, so you have to keep your nutrition in check by being disciplined. No more treats.
It is also a good time to check on your equipment, bring your bike to the store for a check so you know its on the up and up.
If you want to try out new equipment, now is a good time to do that. So that you have enough time to get used to it when things get serious.
Also if you start preppin’ your season now, it is also a good occasion to formulate goals for your season on what you want to achieve during the season.
If you train in a group, get back in touch with the group and participate in sessions.
Also if you have not registered yet for TRI Yas, now is a good time to do that. 🙂
So, this touches pretty much all basic points on getting the show back on the road. Good luck.
Enjoy training. have fun with it. only do what you want to do.
Until the next time. Cheers
